The weather is unseasonably warm for January so a Saturday hike seemed in order. We wanted to check out the Gunpowder Falls State Park Jerusalem Mill Village section.

We took the 4.2 mile Little Gunpowder Trail to Jerusalem Mills loop trail. It was a little muddy at parts but it was beautiful. We did some geocaching, had lunch by the river, and the boys did some exploring.

Upon returning to the village, we checked out the ranger station and got a private tour of the old mill, along with a very, very detailed history of the town, from the docent. (I don’t think he’d had many visitors that day).

We finished with a walk over to the Jericho Covered Bridge, one of only six public covered bridges in Maryland.
