One of our favorite spots in on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the Pisgah National Forest is Graveyard Fields. The high-mountain meadow has a couple options for nice, easy hikes, each with the payoff of a waterfall at the end. We’ve been to the upper falls only once, typically choosing to go to the lower falls.

This spot is extremely busy in the summer months and finding a parking spot in the lot is hard to find. The water in also EXTREMELY cold, even on a hot day! Call me chicken if you want, but you will not find me getting all the way in the water. But I would love to try to climb the waterfall!

We used to come here a lot when we lived in North Carolina but had to make a return visit while driving through on my way to a work event in Atlanta. The boys definitely enjoyed a break from being in the car.
